Senior Trial Manager, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
Eleanor has worked in clinical research since 2002 at the University of Nottingham. Her current role is Senior Trial Manager at the Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (www.nottingham.ac.uk/nctu), where she is responsible for contributing to trial design, obtaining funding and leading the oversight and successful delivery of a large portfolio of complex randomised clinical trials. Eleanor has experience of the design and delivery across a wide range of clinical research studies and clinical trials. Over the last few years she has developed a growing portfolio of trials in the perinatal field which involves collaborating with obstetricians, midwives and neonatologists across the UK.
Clinical trial design and conduct. Eleanor has helped lead the development of the first NCTU short course on "randomised controlled trials", where she also taught several sessions.

Research Manager in the Division of Academic Rheumatology at the University of Nottingham, working closely with Professor Michael Doherty. Involved in managing a variety of research projects, including a clinical trial investigating knee pain and various epidemiological studies.
Project Co-ordinator of the GOAL Study (Genetics of Osteoarthrtitis and Lifestyle), which was a 4-year gene-environmental interaction study, recruiting patients with knee and hip osteoarthritis and age/gender-matched control subjects. Over 3000 participants were recruited into this study.
