Biography

I joined the University in July 2022, having previously worked at one of the region's leading PR agencies. Prior to that, I was a presenter and journalist at a regional broadcaster meaning I have extensive experience working in both sides of the media.

My time working as a journalist provided me with an excellent grounding in news-gathering and storytelling, which has proven to be incredibly beneficial since moving into the world of PR and communications. I know what journalists are looking for when it comes to a story and what it takes to make them tick. I've also spent the past few years building strong relationships with journalists at a variety of publications across different sectors.

I'm passionate about giving people the opportunity to tell their story and spread the word about the fantastic work they do, something that I'm provided with plenty of opportunities to achieve in my role as Media Relations Manager for the Faculty of Engineering.

• Handling media enquiries (for print, online, broadcast news, features and documentaries)
