What to expect from an open day

During an open day, you'll be able to:

  • Explore our world-leading learning opportunities
  • Attend talks about your subject of interest
  • Meet our academic staff and admissions tutors
  • Discover the experiences of our students
  • Take a tour of our iconic, green University Park Campus
  • Explore Jubilee and Sutton Bonington Campus
  • Ask questions about studying and living at university
  • Visit our accommodation, sporting facilities, and students' union

There's a lot to pack into an open day, so we've shared our top tips to get the most out of your day.

How to get to our campuses

We recommend you plan your travel to our open days in advance. Sustainability is important to us here at Nottingham, so we'd appreciate it if you could use public transport where possible. 

If you're visiting University Park or Jubilee Campus, here's some information that you may find useful:

  • Train – Book your train to Nottingham railway station and on arrival, our friendly helpers in blue shirts will direct you to the free campus shuttle bus.
  • Coach – The coach station in Nottingham is a 5-minute walk from the railway station so, you can still make use of the free campus shuttle bus.
  • Tram – University Park Campus has its very own tram stop on the Hucknall-Toton Lane line, which can be used to travel to and from the city centre. 
  • Park and ride - You can use the tram line to park and ride to University Park Campus. You can park at the Toton Lane stop, located close to junction 25 on the M1 and get off at the University of Nottingham stop.
  • Bus – Our campuses are well connected to Nottinghamshire and beyond through a wide range of local bus services.
  • Car – There is free car parking all day on University Park Campus and Blue Badge parking on University Park Campus and Jubilee Campus. For free parking, use postcode NG7 2QB for the North entrance or NG7 2QE for the West entrance.

For our visitors at Sutton Bonington Campus, you can get here by:

  • Train – Book your train to Loughborough Railway Station and make your way to Sutton Bonington Campus.
  • Bus – Our campuses are well connected to Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and beyond through a wide range of local bus services.
  • Coach to Loughborough station National Express runs to Loughborough station.
  • Coach to Nottingham station – The coach station in Nottingham is next door to the railway station. If travelling by coach you could make use of the free campus shuttle bus to University Park Campus, and then transfer to the Sutton Bonington shuttle bus once on campus. Just find a student helper in a blue t-shirt when you arrive.
  • Car – We have free car parking all day on our Sutton Bonington Campus. Use postcode LE12 5RD in your GPS and follow directions to open day car parking on arrival.

There will also be a free shuttle bus service between our three campuses throughout the day.
