Versus Arthritis Pain Research in the UK Conference 2021: Information and deadlines

Wednesday 14 July 2021
Jubilee Conference Centre Nottingham

For the attention of all UK researchers in musculoskeletal and chronic pain.

The 3rd Annual Versus Arthritis Pain Research Conference 2021 conference will bring together UK researchers in musculoskeletal and chronic pain. It will enable research leaders and early career researchers to meet, discuss, establish, and consolidate collaborative networks, and to shape future research direction.

After rising to the challenges and enjoying the highly successful Virtual Versus Arthritis: Pain Research in the UK Conference last year, we are delighted to invite you to the 3rd Versus Arthritis: Pain Research in the UK Conference 2021. This will take place on 14 July 2021 as a face-to-face meeting in Nottingham. Face:face participant numbers will be limited in order to ensure success as a networking opportunity, and because of the current uncertainty about any travel restrictions that may be still in place in the summer due to Covid-19. There will be some limited access to the conference material to view online after the event.

Past meetings have addressed themes around Models of Pain, Measurement of Pain, Psychological Mechanisms, Pain Biomarkers, Brain Networks, Functional Connectivity and Novel Targets for Treatment and much more.  The day will combine elevator and poster presentations, a plenary lecture and parallel workshops, as well as networking activities. Please let us know if you are willing to showcase your research in a three-minute elevator pitch, which may be linked to one or more posters from your team for a more detailed discussion. Workshops will be based around the key themes of the day. Please let us know the topic of any workshop that you would like to see included. Our Organising Committee comprises a small group of key pain researchers from around the UK. We would appreciate your suggestions for elevator pitches, posters and workshops to be received before 22 March 2021 so that they can be collated in time for the Committee’s next meeting.
