The School of Geography is based on the beautiful University Park Campus – a 300 acre oasis with long-established woodland, contemporary gardens and a lake. Every year since its launch in 2010, the UI Greenmetric World University Ranking has ranked the University of Nottingham number 1 in the UK for sustainability, and number 1 in the world on four occasions.

The school is a leading international centre of postgraduate teaching and research, and we provide a supportive study environment with small-group teaching and tutorials. Our research underpins our teaching and has a tangible impact on policy.

Postgraduate students have full access to school facilities, including computing, 3D visualisation and geoscience laboratories, and a resource centre.

Postgraduate research students are an integral part of our wider research and teaching community. Individual projects may crossover research areas, for example, in fields such as environmental management, and students may have supervisors drawn from more than one of our research groups.
