Applications for all postgraduate research courses are free of charge.
Tuition fee deposits
If you are an international student, you will be required to pay a tuition fee deposit of at least £2,000 as part of the process for preparing for your Tier 4 student visa. This applies to non-EEA nationality, overseas applicants who are planning to start a full-time postgraduate course such as an MA, MSc, LLM, MBA, PGDip or PGCert.
The £2,000 tuition fee deposit must be paid when you accept an unconditional offer of a place on a course (before the course starts) in order for a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) to be issued. We cannot issue a CAS after the course start date. For more information, check our deposits FAQs.
If you wish to defer your offer, you will also need to pay the £2,000 deposit before your deferral can be processed. Requests to defer must be made within three months of the original course start date.
The University will waive the tuition fee deposit requirement for students who are fully sponsored by a recognised sponsor. If you are fully sponsored for your course fees, you must email us copy of your sponsorship letter in order for the deposit to be waived. Please quote your full name and application ID.
Please note that if a sponsorship letter is not received, you will be required to pay the deposit before a CAS can be issued (for unconditional offer-holders). The University will only accept sponsorship letters from recognised sponsors such as overseas governments, international businesses, universities, trusts and charities, and not from friends/family members. For any questions relating to your sponsorship and deposit requirements, please contact us.
