Postgraduate Research Student,
Emanuel Sousa received both his Bachelor's degree (2013) and Master's degree (2015) in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Coimbra, Portugal. During those studies he worked on several research projects on the synthesis of chlorins as photosensitisers for PDT and on the synthesis of hexacyclic steroids under the supervision of Dr. Teresa Pinho e Melo at the Coimbra Chemistry Centre. He is currently enrolled in the Nottingham-Monash PhD programme within the division of Biomolecular Sciences and Medicinal Chemistry and the Institute of Cell Signalling at the University of Nottingham.
