Sigrun Maurer

Research Associate, Faculty of Science



Gained a BSc in Molecular Biotechnology in Vienna, Austria, which included an extensive research project at the Helmholtz Institute for Infection Research in Braunschweig, Germany. From there moved on to Manchester, working towards an MRes in Tissue Engineering for Regenerative Medicine. Currently awaiting graduation from PhD in Protein Crystallography at the University of Nottingham, which was pursued in the lab of Dr Ingrid Dreveny.

Biologist with interest and experience in structural biology, molecular biology, microscopy and biochemistry.

Research Summary

Currently working on a multi-disciplinary MRC-funded project concerning Clostridium difficile infection, in Dr Ingrid Dreveny's research group in collaboration with Prof Weng Chan.
