Biography

I graduated from the University of Lincoln in 2018 with a First-Class Honours Degree in Psychology (BSc Hons). I then moved to Nottingham to complete an MSc in Health Psychology at the University of Nottingham. My master's dissertation focused on young adults' perceptions of cognitive behavioural therapy for the treatment of depressive and anxiety disorders. During this process, I developed a key interest in public health literacy across many health-related contexts, and gained a more comprehensive understanding of the theories underpinning behaviour change and the day-to-day difficulties associated with chronic and acute illness.

I was aware of my passion for research throughout my BSc and MSc degrees, and aimed to further apply my knowledge and understanding of psychological theory and public health and epidemiology. Recently, I was successful in gaining a funded PhD within the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Policy (School of Pharmacy). The primary focus of my PhD will be to investigate public health literacy measurement for adult and child community (non-patient) groups, with a particular focus on better understanding the state of child health literacy in England.
