Politics students publish research while on internship in Italy

Two politics students have recently had their research published by the Centre for African Studies in Italy.

Georgina Higgs and Michelle Tambi completed an internship with the centre as part of the schools' placement programme. They developed their practical skills by researching topics of interest for the centre.

Georgina's work focuses on the exploitation of child labour in the mining sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, highlighting key international factors behind this phenomenon. Strengthening the centre's view that migration is primarily a social and political issue, Michelle researched the migration policy devised by the African Union.
