Biography

I am a Doctoral Researcher in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham where I am affiliated at the Centre for Conflict Security and Terrorism. I have obtained my BA in Political Science and my MA in International Relations at LUISS Guido Carli University and my second MA in Geopolitics and Global Security at "La Sapienza" University of Rome.

I am a contributor for Limes, the Italian Review of Geopolitics and for the Observatory on International Politics.

In 2011 I have worked as a Junior analyst for the Istituto Affari Internazionali,

In 2012 I have been a parliamentary assistant at the Italian Chamber of Deputies

In 2014 I have contributed, as external consultant, to the draft of the Anti-Corruption Plan of the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea of Italy.

In 2015 I have worked as analyst for the Observatory on Money Laundering and the Financing of International Terrorism at the "Bruno Visentini" Foundation.

My PhD project on "Islamist Mafias" investigates the phenomenon of the crime-terror nexus with a special focus on the activities of Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and the Haqqani Network.
