How is career development supported?
The School of Psychology provides second year undergraduates the opportunity to apply for a paid summer internship within the School. This enables students the opportunity to gain research experience in an area of interest to them. In addition, one internship can be undertaken at the Malaysia (UNMC) campus.
Career focused events
The School organises a number of career focused events for all students throughout the academic year, these often include presentations from alumni and expert guidance from the University of Nottingham careers service. These will be listed under News and Events

The School of Psychology is part of the University of Nottingham’s study abroad scheme which offers students the opportunity to apply to study abroad for a year at a range of partner universities across the world. Along with academic benefits this provides students the opportunity to gain international experience which employers highly regard. This can be of great benefit to those interested in competitive postgraduate courses such as Clinical Psychology as students can gain experience and knowledge in these areas at a university with specific specialisms in those fields.
The University provides students the opportunity for bespoke one-off advice from alumni professionals for those with specific questions or queries about career paths in a particular industry / sector.

The School of Psychology provides a BPS accredited course ensuring students have the opportunity to have a professional chartered status in their future career.
The University provides an eMentoring scheme for students to receive guidance from recent alumni with professional experience in their areas of interest.
The Nottingham Advantage Award is a new initiative providing students the opportunity to focus on skills, employability and personal and academic development. The award-winning scheme focuses on extracurricular development.
