Head of Operations for Precision Imaging Beacon
Cheryl joined the University of Nottingham in September 2008 working in the Research and Innovation Department for seven years before moving to the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, where she worked as EPSRC, Centre for Power Electronics, Research Centre Manager. Cheryl then took a secondment position to the University’s Ningbo Campus where she worked for almost two years as Senior Project Manager, managing a large diverse professional team.
Cheryl returned to the UK joining the Precision Imaging Beacon in October 2017 working closely with Director Professor Dorothee Auer to deliver the Precision Imaging Beacon business case.
Cheryl works in partnership with the Beacon Director in developing the Beacon’s strategic vision, including managing the Beacon plan and budget setting processes. She is responsible for developing the operational plan by which the Beacon Plan is implemented, thus enabling the Beacon to meet its aspirations.
Cheryl provides leadership to the Beacon Support Team enabling them to function effectively both individually and as a team. She is responsible for the long-term business and financial planning for the Beacon, to realise its strategic aims in all areas of its activity. Cheryl has also recently completed a split six month secondment to the University Malaysia campus in the position of Head of Operation, Research & Knowledge Exchange for the campus.
Cheryl has more than fourteen years experience in the Higher Education sector in various senior posts and holds two University degrees (Law and History) from the University of Leicester.
