Eleanor Seymour

Rights Lab Research Fellow in Human Rights and Gender


Dr Eleanor Seymour works as part of the Rights Lab’s Law and Policy Programme, adopting a gender- and conflict-sensitive lens to explore survivor support needs, frameworks, and rights. Her work includes evaluating existing support and referral mechanisms, exploring current models of care, and providing evidence-based guidance for reform of policy and practice in in collaboration with survivors, policymakers, and civil society. Prior to working at the Rights Lab, Eleanor worked at the University of Birmingham (where she also completed her PhD on sexual and gender-based violence) on a project focusing on Children Born of War in Northern Uganda. She is an interdisciplinary scholar with interests in gender, human rights, sociology, anthropology, and law.
