Emily Brady

Rights Lab Research Fellow in Antislavery Culture

Emily Brady works as part of the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme with Dr Helen McCabe on an AHRC-funded project with partners in Kenya to develop survivor-led empowerment through ethical story-telling and image creation; and with Dr Andrea Nicholson on a project to understand the impact of NGO programmes for survivors of modern slavery in India and Ethiopia. Her previous work with the Rights Lab analysed the imagery of the global movement to end slavery, in particular its use of photography and its potential for using survivor-created images in campaigns and awareness-raising. She also delivered the Rights Lab's Voices for Change project, a short-form podcast series with antislavery leaders who answer one question: What is the single change that would help end modern slavery?
