Email: Hannah.Baumeister@nottingham.ac.uk

Dr Hannah Baumeister (Politics and International Relations) works as part of the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme on the AHRC-funded research project “To Have and to Hold: Understanding the Relationship Between Forced Marriage and Modern Slavery” led by Dr Helen McCabe. In this role she is conducting a systematic survey of international, domestic and customary law on forced marriage; building and analysing a database of legislation, norms, and international obligations for all UN Member States; creating accessible legal tools for various stakeholders including model legislation and advice on good practice; and analysing survivor narratives of forced marriage and modern slavery. This work builds on her past research into the international criminalisation of, and socio-legal response to, conflict-related forced marriage.
