Rights Lab Professor of Global Politics and Anti-Slavery
Professor James Cockayne (Politics and International Relations) works as part of the Rights Lab's Law and Policy Programme and focuses on the theory and practice of global politics as it relates to the domain of antislavery. This includes research in the field of international relations and global political institutions. His research expertise includes modern slavery and multilateral institutions; strategic theory; counter-terrorism and countering organized crime; the financial sector; and slavery as a multidimensional sustainable development challenge. Previously he was the Director of the Centre for Policy Research at United Nations University, Project Director for Delta 8.7 (the Alliance 8.7 Knowledge Platform), and Head of Secretariat for Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (also known as the Liechtenstein Initiative).
