Professor James Moran (English) works as part of the Rights Lab's Communities and Society Programme and leads our work on slavery and performance. He focuses on how theatre and drama can help to end slavery. This analysis of drama’s antislavery efficacy includes how performance can help the contemporary campaign to end slavery, the effect that theatre makers have upon audiences, and what modes of performance help survivors to tell their stories most effectively. His research background is in how politics and dramatic literature interact.
