Dr Timothy Masiko (Law) works as part of the Rights Lab’s Law and Policy Programme on the role of international trade law in reducing modern slavery and its impacts. Tim is an Assistant Professor in the School of Law, specialising in international economic law, legal history, and African and pan-African approaches to international law. He has a background in practice, as a consulting associate at E.K Consulting Group, a trade policy and trade law consulting firm based in Kampala, Uganda. His forthcoming book Flexible Regional Economic Integration in Africa—which considers the history of economic integration in Africa and the use of variable geometry to achieve continental integration—won the 2020 SIEL-Hart Prize in International Economic Law.
