Dr Liu obtained his Bachelor and Master degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) and completed his PhD in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is currently a Research Fellow in Manufacturing Metrology Team at the University of Nottingham.
Dr Liu has published 40+ papers in refereed international journals and international conferences. He is a reviewer for several international journals including Precision Engineering, Optics Express, Manufacturing Processes, and Applied Optics.
