Richard Leach attended the ASPEN/ASPE 2017 Spring Topical Meeting “Manufacture and Metrology of Structured and Freeform Surfaces for Functional Applications” in Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong from 14th to 17th March 2017. The meeting was attended by over 80 experts and students, from a mixture of industrial and research backgrounds. Richard chaired a session and gave an oral paper on work performed by Adam Thompson, Nicola Senin, Ian Maskery and himself, entitled “A metrology horror story: the additive surface”; describing our work on the measurement of surface texture for AM using a range of instruments and comparison methods.
