MMT delivers metrology course in China
Patrick Bointon, Waiel Elmadih, Lar Korner, Richard Leach, Lewis Newton, Adam Thompson and Luke Todhunter delivered a two-week undergraduate course in Manufacturing Metrology at the Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China from 10th to 21st December 2018. The course included basics of metrology, uncertainty estimation, precision instrument design, surface metrology, form metrology, in-process metrology and presentations on cutting-edge manufacturing metrology research in MMT. Richard also presented the work of MMT to the research team at HIT and each student presented their research in a head-to-head with a student from HIT. The course is one part of a broader collaboration with HIT since 2011.
