Luke Todhunter attends IMEKO XXII
Luke Todhunter attended the IMEKO XXII World Congress in Belfast, Northern Ireland during 3rd -6th September 2018. The conference had 581 delegates from 48 countries, and delivered a total of 292 oral presentations and 259 poster presentations on a wide variety of measurement applications, from biology to robotics. Luke delivered a poster presentation on his work ‘Development of mathematical reference standards for the validation of surface texture parameter calculation software’. The conference also included special keynotes from Physics Nobel Prize winners Prof. Klaus von Klitzing (1985, for his discovery of the quantum hall effect) and Prof. William Phillips (1997, for his work on laser cooling). Before the gala dinner, the delegates were also invited on a private tour of the Titanic Belfast museum, built on the location the Titanic was built between 1909 and 1912.
