Khalid Alblalaihid successfully defended his thesis on 11th April 2016, with just minor corrections required
His thesis was entitled “Active suspension structure for micro-scale probing system” and his supervisors were Dr Simon Lawes and Dr Peter Kinnell (ex-Nottingham, now Loughborough). Khalid designed, developed and characterised a prototype micro-CMM probe that could operate in a stiff and a flexible mode to try to solve many of the issues associated with probing on the micro-scale. His examiners were Prof. Derek Chetwynd (Warwick) and Prof. Richard Leach. Hopefully, the micro-probe work will continue in the future with a new student about to start in October 2016.
