Teaching Associate, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences
I qualified as a Registered General Nurse at the Derby School of Nursing in 1990 and spent 15 years in practice working in the critical care field, both in Intensive Care and Coronary Care. Following this in 2006 I started lecturing on Health related topics and subsequently completed my training 3 years later to become a fully qualified teacher at Nottingham Trent University. I have been teaching Biology and Health courses at Burton & South Derbyshire College until 2012, where I was the Programme Area Manager for Health & Social Care, Childcare & Public Services . I started part-time at The University of Nottingham Vet School in October 2012, teaching biology on the Preliminary Year. Over the last two years my role has dramatically increased. I was made Module Convenor for the Preliminary Year in 2013 and Senior tutor for Years 2 and 3 in September 2014.
