Research Fellow, Faculty of Science
Following a MSc in pharmaceutical formulation sciences, I pursued PhD in drug delivery and tissue engineering at the University of Nottingham, UK. My PhD dissertation "Gradient delivery of bioactive molecules across porous hydrogels" was supervised by Professor Kevin Shakesheff. Since then, I continued a series of collaborative research projects in the fields of drug delivery, biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine in Alexandria university, Egypt.
The focus of my current work in Dixon group at the division of Regenerative Medicine and Cellular Therapies, is to optimize the multi factors involved in the development of the GET peptide-gene nanoparticles for regenerative, lung gene therapy and immunization applications in preclinical animal studies aiming for clinical translation.
AFHEA, Associate Fellow of Higher Education Academy, February 2022 to present
I have been involved in academic higher education teaching as an assistant professor for pharmacy under/postgraduate students in Egypt 2016-2019.
