Journal papers in Additive Manufacturing

Aligned to the Research Publication Framework and CfAM’s publication strategy, the Programme Grant team focusses on publishing high quality papers in leading journals. Therefore, we have applied very strict standards to our experimental results and our manuscripts, which significantly increases development time. Throughout the Programme, we had an impressive number of manuscripts in preparation and an increased number of published manuscripts towards the last years of PG.

Additive Manufacturing: Materials, Functionalities and Applications

Yinfeng He, Maria Ines Evangelista Barreiros have been invited to share their expertise by contributing on a chapter of Additive Manufacturing: Materials, Functionalities and Applications, from author Kun Zhou.

They have co-authored the chapter Personalized medicine: manufacturing oral solid dosage forms through Additive Manufacturing, which speaks about how Medicine is moving towards personalized treatments, with the ultimate goal to customisation of drug delivery devices and loaded pharmaceutical tablets to meet the specific needs of individuals. They also cover the evolution of additive manufacturing and its importance on accelerating the progress to meet this target; the recent multi-material additive manufacturing techniques that allows a new manufacturing strategy to customize complex therapeutics; and, the choices of materials and active pharmaceutical ingredients available for additive manufacturing of personalized medicine. Finally, they compare and explain the key advantages and limitations of the available techniques for small-scale and large-scale production, providing the reader with an in-depth view of this emerging field.

The book was published in November 2022 by Springer Nature.
