High temperature controlled environment corrosion rig

High Temperature Controlled Environment Test Rig

The CME team has developed a bespoke high temperature controlled environment corrosion rig which can simulate the combustion environment inside a pulverised fuel biomass fired boiler, waste to energy converter, grate chain fired boilers, gas turbines, gasifiers etc. The tests can be conducted in presence of HCl, SO2, CO2, CO, H2S for several thousand hours. Specific deposits can be used to study deposit induced corrosion. The rig is ceramic lined and samples to 38 mm diameter boiler tubes can be exposed to predict material behaviour in aggressive power generation conditions. The tests can provide valuable information in material behaviour in service like conditions.
