High temperature oxidation in steam

High Temperature Oxidation in Steam

CME team's high temperature atmospheric pressure steam oxidation rig can operate up to 1100◦ C for several thousand hours to test candidate coatings in flowing steam. Ultra supercritical (USC) power plants will operate at steam temperatures beyond 700 ◦ C and we are developing high Cr based coatings for oxidation protection of steam turbines. The steam oxidation data is used to develop lifetime models of the coatings.
