Drama and Creative Writing

Our courses

As a student involved in drama and creative writing you’ll be encouraged to deepen your knowledge and develop your skills.

You will have opportunities to study and research content across time, geography, genres and formats.

You’ll also receive high levels of support and advice as you begin to develop your own practice and style and produce your own original work.

Students taking our BA English with Creative Writing tell you what the course has done for them.

Undergraduate degrees

Our BA English and Creative Writing increases your all round knowledge of English language, literature and drama and uses this to inform, develop and improve your creative writing ability.

Our other English degrees include core and optional modules in creative writing and practical drama, allowing you to specialise in these areas as part of a broad curriculum.

Masters degrees

The Creative Writing MA is led by published authors and poets. You'll explore the writing process within the contexts of publication and professional writing.

Several of our other English MA courses allow you to explore creative writing and drama (historical and present) alongside other areas of English.
