Effective Installation of the Building Integrated Photovoltaics
The performance of silicon-based PV modules drops in temperatures above 25oC. Building integrated PVs can benefit from wind-driven cooling in case of a suitable design and installation. The aim of this study is to develop an accurate microclimate CFD tool to predict the surface temperature of the BIPVs by means of an effective installation under different climate condition. The model is validated with a velocimetry experimental dataset from the same model tested in a wind tunnel experiment by Mirzaei and Carmeliet, 2015.
