Numerical Modelling of an Innovative Material to Improve Energy Storage in Greenhouses
This study develops a numerical model to understand the performance of an innovative PCM-ETFE facade integrated into the greenhouse envelopes to improve the thermal storage capacity in various climates. The simulation is based on an experimental investigation in which the PCM-ETFE is used as a fenestration between two climate chambers 1 and 2. The charging and discharge process of the PCM in the window unit is monitored and simulated to determine the thermal performance of the façade.
