Programme of Work

Security and International Law publication

NILSC members (Olympia Bekou, Lydia Davies-Bright, Mary Footer, Mattia Fosci, Julia Schmidt, Nigel White) are working on editing and contributing to a collection of essays arising out of the ILA British Branch Annual Spring Conference held in Nottingham on the theme of 'Security and International Law'.

Security Group roundtables

The Security Group is organised by doctoral students in the School of Law working in the area of security and international law and is part of the new Nottingham International Law and Security Centre.

Its purpose is to create a space for interdisciplinary debate and reflection on issues of security in international law, such as (but not limited to) terrorism, the environment, non-state actors, human security, responsibility to protect and humanitarian law.

The Security Group was born out of the need to engage with a wider group of researchers beyond the School of Law, exchange perspectives, debate opinions and create synergies with the other departments of The University of Nottingham. The Security Group intends to organise regular roundtables on topical areas of interest.
