Biography

I am a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, Faculty of Engineering. I finished my PhD at the Instituto Tecnologico de Celaya in 2014. My main research interests lie in the field of risk analysis, reliability engineering and human factors.

Research Summary

My current research focuses on the Development of modelling approaches and safety assessment methodologies to predict the failure probability or frequency of industrial safety critical systems

Past Research

I am a chemical engineer and researcher with over 10 years of research experience in the field of safety and risk analysis. My research focuses on improving safety, minimising the occurrence of major accidents in high-risk sectors and enhancing risk controls through the development of advance mathematical models and tools to assess the overall risk and reliability of safety barriers. I have developed advanced statistical methods, optimization models and computational tools applied to risk analysis and decision-making under uncertainty.

I have worked on collaborative projects and activities with different industry sectors in the United States, Qatar and the UK. I was a member of the core organising committee of the Qatar Process Safety Symposium from 2017 to 2019.
