Discovery Days: Healthy Eating

Discovery Days: Healthy Eating

Pupils will be given the opportunity to work alongside food professionals to learn more about the benefits of a healthy diet and how this can be adopted. This will extend to exploring the impact of a plant-based regime and the potential benefits of this. Children will be provided with the ingredients to create their own healthy lunch (which they will then be able to eat in one of the University’s Halls of Accommodation) - all dietary requirement will be catered for.

Children will also gain a better understanding of how large-scale organisations produce food to cater for a variety of needs and the science behind individual food plans.

Introducing the concept of university and helping children to think about their futures, our outreach officers will run sessions in school, both before and after the Discovery Day.

In partnership with the University’s catering department.
