Our outreach activities
Schools within the Faculty of Science carry out a range of outreach activities with local schools and the community.
School outreach
Staff and students from across the faculty support activities run by the central Schools and Colleges Outreach Team.
Activities include:
- Primary – Learner leader programmes
- Primary – Discovery days
- Secondary - Year 10 taster events with Ambition Nottingham
- Taster lectures Year 12 summer schools
In addition, the Faculty runs work experience, talks and workshops and can help coordinate visits to our research spaces.

Public engagement
You may meet our staff and students at as part of a number of public events and activities often run with the Institute of Policy and Engagement.
These include:
- Festival of Science and Curiosity
- Science in the Park
- Pint of Science talks
- Science public lecture series
- On radio and TV
- Science public lecture series
