Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowships

The next round of the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship opens on 1 January 2022 and closes on 24 February 2022.

The scheme provides support for early career researchers with a research record but who have not yet held a full-time permanent academic post. It is hoped that the appointment would lead to a more permanent position, either within the same or another institution. The objective is for Fellows to undertake a significant piece of publishable research during the tenure of the award, so the project should not be a reworking or mere extension of the candidate’s doctoral research project.

The scheme is highly competitive and the school is keen to support high quality applications. The school will therefore be shortlisting applicants in order to provide bid development support to selected candidates.  Prospective applicants are therefore invited to submit the following to Dr Nicola Carr (Director of Research and Knowledge Exchange) nicola.carr@nottingham.ac.uk by 5pm on 19 November:

  • A short academic CV
  • Title of research proposal and outline of the proposed research (max. 1,000 words)
  • A short explanation of why they wish to be hosted in the School of Sociology and Social Policy (max. 250 words)
