Poverty Alleviation. I am interested in looking at the effects of community participation in poverty ( Ubuyanga) alleviation programs. I argue that its is vital for the community to be involved from the inception of the programs - the community getting involved in coming up with ideas that are likely to help them alleviate poverty, to the operationalization of that program. This is likely to make the community own the program, ensure that it succeeds and is sustained when other stakeholders leave the community.
