Here to keep you safe
Here to keep you safe
Our University of Nottingham Sport facilities will be temporarily closed from 10.30pm on Wednesday 30 December.
Our team have worked hard to ensure you can enjoy your activity with us in a friendly and safe environment. We've introduced a range of measures to keep our customers and staff safe in our facilities. Please see below for more detail. Please also view the University of Nottingham's Safety on Campus guidance here.
Our staff are here to help
Our team have completed additional training around all new measures in place so they can support you and answer any questions or concerns you may have (from a safe distance of course!)
Maintaining a safe distance
We have rearranged our fitness suites and creating clearly defined areas to help ensure everyone can work out at a safe distance. You’ll also be asked to follow new routes to and from your activity to minimise unnecessary contact - these will be clearly marked.
Face coverings
Our team will be wearing face coverings at all times, unless instructing a class. All customers visiting our sports facilities are required to wear a face covering when walking through to / from their activity within indoor facilities and circulation spaces, but may remove when exercising.
Managing numbers
We’ve lowered the capacity within our facilities and activities in line with government guidelines and to help maintain safe social distancing.
Check in with the NHS COVID-19 app
QR codes are displayed across our facilities for customers to scan using the NHS COVID-19 app. Search 'COVID' in the app store to download the app for free and click here to find out more about NHS Test and Trace.
Pre-booking system for all activities
We've introduced a new pre-booking system for all activities, including our fitness suites and swimming pool. Members and visitors will be asked to book in advance to avoid disappointment and please arrive no more than 5 minutes ahead of your time slot.
Enhanced cleaning
We'll continue to clean our facilities the highest standards throughout the day. We use high-grade anti-viral disinfectant and our team will regularly wipe down all equipment.
Hand sanitising stations
We’ve added additional hand sanitiser stations so it’s easy for you to clean your hands regularly. We’ll also ask members to sanitise their hands when they enter our facilities and at the entrance to our fitness suites.
Cleaning stations
We’ve installed cleaning stations with anti-viral disinfectant wipes and we'll ask you to clean your equipment before and after use.
Fresher, safer ventilation
In line with industry guidelines, our ventilation and air conditioning systems have been reset to increase the fresh air flow into and out of our facilities.
Contactless entry
All of our access-controlled turnstiles allow for contactless entry. Simply hold your membership card (your student card if you are a University of Nottingham student) as normal over the turnstile reader. Additional signage will be in place to guide customers to alternative entry and exit points that have been introduced.
Contactless payments
If you need to make a purchase at our reception desk, we offer contactless payment and are installing perspex screens for everyone's protection. We won't be accepting cash or cheque payments at this current time.
Sharing best practice
We're working closely with the University of Nottingham, leading fitness industry experts, including UK Active, as well as a range of other partners to make sure we’re up-to-date with all the latest guidance and measures.

Don't forget that our popular Health and Wellbeing Home with live classes, on-demand content and fitness challenges is available for you to use. Why not try something new to compliment your workout programme?
