We strive to ensure that the University sports facilities are accessible to disabled users.

On this page you can find access videos following the journeys of disabled students through our sports facilities.

There is also advice provided on the accessible features of each of the facilities on our three main campuses. 

 

Access Videos

 Engage sessions - David Ross Sports Village


 

 This access video is of one our disabled students, who is a wheelchair user - Aymun Khan. It follows his journey in to David Ross Sports Village.

The video follows shows how Aymun accesses the facility and an inclusive Engage handball session, in one of the facility's sports halls.

 

Club Sessions - David Ross Sports Village

 This access video is of one of our para-sport scholars - Sean O'Sullivan - following his journey in to David Ross Sports Village.

It shows how he accesses the badminton club training sessions in the sports hall and then strength and conditioning in our high performance zone.

 
 

 Supported Fitness Sessions - David Ross Sports Village

This access video is of one our disabled students Agata- who has a visual impairment. It shows her journey in to the David Ross Sports Village.

The video illustrates how Agata accesses the reception, change facilities, lockers, fitness facilities and supported fitness sessions at the centre.

* Please note that this room, now requires a Radar key, so please make sure that you bring yours with you to the facility if you have one. We do have a spare key for this room and this can be requested at the main reception desk.

Swimming Pool access

For disabled customers and those with mobility issues, we do have an accessible entrance, which is closer to the swimming pool facility. Access to this entrance can be requested by completing a self declaration form, which will be approved by the University's Disability Sport Officer.

Changing Places room

At the David Ross Sports Village, we have one designated Changing Places Room - including toilet and shower facilities. This is situated on A Floor of the facility, down the corridor heading towards the squash courts and swimming pool. Reception staff can provide directions and access on request.
