What different types of public membership packages do you offer?
The University offer a number of membership options for members of the local community who are not affiliated with the University as a student, staff member, associate or alumni.
We offer the following packages:
- David Ross Sports Village fitness suite and swimming pool
- David Ross Sports Village fitness suite
- David Ross Sports Village swimming pool
- Sutton Bonington Sports Centre

What is included in public UoN sports and fitness memberships?
Public members at the £40 million David Ross Sports Village enjoy access to:
- 200-station state-of-the-art fitness suite
- free fitness induction and programme reviews
- extensive range of group exercise classes, including Les Mills' sessions
- eight-lane 25m swimming pool (dependent on package purchased)
Public members at Sutton Bonington Sports Centre enjoy access to:
- 30-station fitness suite
- free fitness induction and programme reviews
- extensive range of group exercise classes, including Les Mills' sessions
- squash, badminton, basketball and volleyball courts (indoor)
- tennis courts (outdoor)

When will my UoN sports and fitness membership expire?
Annual memberships are valid from the date of purchase for 12 months.
Monthly memberships are rolling memberships; valid from the date of purchase until cancellation.
How can I purchase my UoN sports and fitness membership?
UoN sports and fitness membership may be purchased via the following methods:
- Online
- Via telephone: +44 (0)115 74 87000
- By visiting the David Ross Sports Village, Jubilee Sports Centre or Sutton Bonington Sports Centre receptions
Is there a joining fee to become a UoN sports and fitness member?
No, there is no joining fee for any of our membership packages.
As a sports and fitness member, can I sign in guests?
UoN sport members may bring up to three guests, per visit. Guests must attend their session/s with a UoN Sport health and fitness member. This includes all prepaid membership types.
Guests rate of pay are as follows;
£6.50 per person, per activity during term time before 3pm
£7.50 per entry, per activity during term time after 3pm
£6.50 per person, per activity, during non-term time
Guest activities
Guests may attend the following activities: Gym, swimming, courts, group exercise classes and the health suite, subject to availability on arrival.
How do I book / cancel a class?
You can book, cancel or amend bookings online, by telephoning +44 (0)115 74 87000 or by visiting any sports centre reception.
When can I use the David Ross Sports Village swimming pool?
Access to the David Ross Sports Village swimming pool is included in your sports and fitness membership if you have purchased a David Ross Sports Village fitness suite and pool package or pool only package.
Please check our opening times for pool availability and swimming times for general members.
Where can I park at David Ross Sports Village and Sutton Bonington Sports Centre?
At David Ross Sports Village there is parking available next to the sports village and along University Boulevard. At Sutton Bonington Sports Centre there is a car park directly next to the centre.
Public members may park free-of-charge for up to 2 hours, please obtain a pay and display ticket from the machine and display clearly in your vehicle.
How can I connect the fitness suite equipment to my phone?
All our fitness suites use the Life Fitness LFconnect app to enable you to track your work out and access personalised programmes. For more information and to download,

As a member of the public, can I use the sports and fitness facilities without a membership?
Members of the public can Pay as You Go during non-term time, with the exception of the climbing wall and 3G pitches which can be booked year-round. Please click here for more detail.
Non-members (up to 3) may also use the facility as guests of a paying UoN sports and fitness member at a charge of £6.50 each (opening until 3pm) or £7.50 each (3pm - closing).

How can I freeze my sports and fitness membership?
A UoN public sports and fitness membership can be frozen by giving one full calendar months’ notice in writing to
sport@nottingham.ac.uk.
How can I cancel my sports and fitness membership?
Public members may request to cancel their sports and fitness membership by giving one full calendar months’ notice via our online form.
Whom do I contact if I have further questions or feedback on UoN Sport facilities and membership?
