Coaching Opportunities at the University of Nottingham Sport

At the University of Nottingham Sport, we are continually investing into our sporting infrastructure. Our vision for sport is ambitious, with a £40m Sports Village and substantial support of the coaching and development of our 70+ sports clubs and 120+ active teams. As a result we are hugely proud of our sporting success, regularly placing in the top three of the overall BUCS standings, as well as being named Sports University of the Year for both 2019 and 2021. We are currently recruiting for numerous Head Coach roles ahead of the 2021/22 season. The positions that we are advertising for are:

 

Volleyball Head Coach

The University of Nottingham Volleyball Club consists of 6 BUCS teams. The two performance squads compete in Premier North (the top level of BUCS Volleyball). The women's team will compete in the NVL Super League while the men's team will compete in NVL Division 1 for the 2021/22 season.

We are currently seeking and experience Volleyball Head Coach for the 2021/22 academic year. The head coach will deliver an innovative and effective Volleyball programme to support the development of elite and competitive Volleyball within the club. The Head Coach will ideally hold at least a Level 2 coaching qualification or significant experience at international playing level. The Head Coach will lead on both the men's and women's performance Volleyball programmes, however it is possible to tender for the men's and women's programmes separately for the right candidate(s).

The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance. The minimum hours of the contract is 620 (Men's 310 & Women's 310) over a 40 week period, which will include coaching delivery, attandance at matches, club development, recruitment and administration, and coach mentoring. However, additional hours can be tendered for if deemed necessary to achieve the required outcomes that will be set out in the tender document.

Judo Head Coach

The University of Nottingham Judo Club provides for athletes of all levels, from beginners through to elite and international athletes. The club competes at several national competitions including BUCS.

We are currently seeking an experienced Judo Head Coach for the 2021/22 academic year. The head coach will deliver an innovative and effective Judo programme to support the development of Judo at the University of Nottingham. The Head Coach will hold a BJA coaching license and minimum of UKCC Level 2 coaching qualification. The Head Coach will mainly support the performance element of the club but provide significant support for the beginners programme.

The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance. The minimum hours of the contract is 340, which will include coaching delivery, attendance at events, club development, recruitment, administration and coach mentoring. However, additional hours can be tendered for if deemed necessary to achieve the required outcomes that will be set out in the tender document.

Netball Head Coach

We are currently seeking a Head Netball Coach for the upcoming 2021/22 season. The club currently consists of six BUCS teams and two IMS teams; including a first team who play in the BUCS Premier North division. We require an experienced head coach to lead the delivery of the performance programme in line with the UoN Vision for Sport that ensures sustained performance success and outstanding student experience across the wider club.

The contract period will be September 2021 – June 2022, within this contract period the Head Coach, required to hold a minimum of Level 2 coaching qualification or significant experience at international playing level, will deliver an innovative and effective Netball programme to support the development of elite, competitive and participation netball within the club. The deliverer must also hold appropriate insurance.

The minimum hours of the contract is 421 over a 30-week period, which will include coaching delivery, attendance at matches, club development, recruitment and administration.

Men’s Hockey Head Coach

The University of Nottingham Men’s Hockey Club consists of 7 teams. The 1st team compete in BUCS National League (the top level of BUCS Hockey) and in National League Division 1 North on weekends. The team is one of the University of Nottingham’s High-Performance clubs and receive several addition support services including S&C, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, injury treatment and pitch side support.

We are currently seeking an experienced Men’s Hockey Head Coach for the 2021/22 academic year. The head coach will deliver an innovative and effective Hockey programme to support the development of elite and competitive Hockey within the club. The Head Coach will ideally hold at least a Level 2 coaching qualification or significant experience at international playing level. The Head Coach will lead all aspects of the men’s performance programme as well as support the other coaches within the club.

The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance. The minimum 610 hours of the contract is over a 40 week period, which will include coaching delivery, attendance at matches, club development, recruitment and administration, and coach mentoring, however additional hours can be tendered for if deemed necessary to achieve the required outcomes that will be set out in the tender document.
