Winter Nationals results in more championships for UoN Polo

On Thursday 10^th February, forty members of the University of Nottingham Polo Club descended on Rugby Polo Club for the SUPA (Schools and Universities Polo Association) Winter Nationals. Competing all the way through until Sunday the 14^th, the four days of intense action saw thirteen #GreenandGold teams play a total of 52 chukkas, or 390 minutes of polo.

In a feat not to be underestimated, the university's top two teams both placed first in their divisions (Upper Intermediate and Novice 1), whilst the alumni and Novice combined teams for the university also claimed a first place finish - securing four top rankings for Nottingham teams. All of the University of Nottingham teams performed exceptionally well, and the Polo club have named Raf Redmond, Flo Golder, Tilly Holmes and Jess Crichard as their most valuable players from the weekend's play. These players showed outstanding playing ability throughout, as well as great sportmanship within their divisions.

Following the event, the Polo committee stated that "we are very proud of how everyone performed over the weekend, once again claiming us the title of national champions in three divisions. The hard work and dedication of our members in both the leadup to the tournament, and whilst there must not be underestimated, as all the hours of training was converted into real results. Not only this, but our team sprit was impeccable throughout the weekend, with everyone turning up to support each other when playing."
