Bring your kids for free this holiday with UoN Sport!

University of Nottingham Sport are pleased to invite all our members to bring their children (aged 16 years and under) free-of-charge during the upcoming University winter holidays!

This offer runs from Saturday 16 December 2017 – Sunday 14 January 2017 and is open to all UoN sport and fitness members including students, staff, associates, alumni and public members.

Members may take their children to any of our sports centres where they have access via their membership – for example, Sutton Bonington public members may visit our Sutton Bonington sports centre only.

Accompanied by their parent / guardian, children may access;

David Ross Sports Village only:

  • climbing wall*
  • swimming pool during general member swim times **

All sports centres:

  • squash courts
  • indoor courts including badminton, basketball, volleyball and futsal
  • snooker (not available at Jubilee)
  • table tennis
  • outdoor courts - tennis and netball

With the fantastic facilities we have on offer – it’s a great way to entertain the kids during the Christmas break. You can even stay after your session and treat yourselves to a drink and snack at the David Ross Sports Village Clubhouse Café.

We really look forward to welcoming you and your families soon!

Using the climbing wall *

Children aged 2 years and above may use our David Ross Sports Village climbing wall when supervised by a parent / guardian free-of-charge during the University winter holiday period.

If you’ve not climbed before, or would like to refresh your skills, we’ve developed two brand new modules for parents / guardians.

These short 1 hour sessions will provide you with the skills needed to supervise your child safely on the climbing wall and are required if you have not already registered with us as a competent climber / boulderer.

Module 1: This is for the auto belay and bouldering wall only. The session will cover the important safety points of fitting harnesses, connecting to the auto belay and safe use of the bouldering wall.

Module 2: This is for the main climbing wall. The session will cover the required safety aspects associated with using the wall including tying on, belaying and lowering.

Each module costs £6.50 to attend and sessions will be running from 9am on Saturday 16 December 2017 – please book online via your member account or via the David Ross Sports Village reception.

If you are already a climber or boulderer, please register as a climber / boulderer with the David Ross Sports Village reception team. You will then be able to book sessions and supervise your children on the wall – the above modules are not required.

Using the swimming pool **

Please note, each child aged from 0-3 years must be accompanied by a minimum of one adult. A single adult may supervise no more than two children aged 4 – 7 years

Non UoN sport and fitness members

If you are a University of Nottingham student or staff member or an alumni or associate of the University, then you will be charged £6.50 per adult per visit. Your children will then be able to use our facilities free-of-charge.
Unfortunately this offer is not open to non-members from the general public.
