Performance Futsal (Men's)

 
 
 

Futsal players studying at the University of Nottingham join a unique performance progamme; as well as a large British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) programme.

With full-time coach Marc Forrest leading the programme, players benefit from a strong performance environment including state-of-the-art playing and support facilities at the £40 million David Ross Sports Village, nutritional advice and sports pyschology training.

Additional opportunities for student athletes include the chance to work within the University of Nottingham Futsal Academy, helping to develop the top local talent within the region from 10 to 16 years old. Our programme also has strong links with Dinamo Futsal in Croatia as well as the Northern Ireland league, with exhibition fixtures and overseas tours organised each year.

Performance coaching

Marc Forrest joins us as the Men's Futsal coach with a fantastic reputation as one of the most exciting and highly respected futsal coaches in the UK. 

Marc has experience of working at the International Futsal Academy during his time reaching the FA National League Futsal Grand Finals, Two FA Futsal Cup Finals and Two BUCS Championship Futsal Finals.

Most recently he was Head Coach of Loughborough Academy, reaching the FA Futsal Cup Finals, the first development team to do so in the history of the competition.

Futsal background: Representing Cyprus at international level

Top achievements: Competing for a senior team ranked 2nd in the Cyprus National League

 I chose to come to Nottingham so that I could play at the highest level in the UK for their FA National Futsal Super League team. The team spirit was also evident as soon as I met the squad!

Studying: BA Geography (School of Geography)

Futsal background: Represented Team GB at the European Maccabi Games and The University of Nottingham in the FA National Futsal Super League

Top achievements: Winning the European Games with Team GB and being selected for the England U23 squad.

 I joined the futsal squad when I started at The University of Nottingham as I have always loved 5-a-side. Definitely was an excellent decision!
