UoN Empower

Unlock your Potential

Empower is a new initiative which will give female students the opportunity to keep fit, educate themselves on a healthy lifestyle and become part of a dynamic community.

The programme will incorporate a series of physical activities, workshops and the chance to build friendships.

The programme will start with the largest female activity event of the year- Girls’ Night In.

Running across all three campuses, and for the whole academic year - the programme will be concluded with an opportunity for an off-campus trip for those students who have engaged with the programme the most and embodied the ethos of Empower.

We encourage students to join the growing dynamic community on our Empower Facebook group

The sessions and workshops will have a points based system which will give the students who have engaged the most and truly embodied the ethos of Empower the opportunity to qualify for the off-campus trip which will take place at the end of the year. If you want to check your 'balance', contact the Empower Team.

How do you access the sessions?

Please turn up just before the session you'd like to attend and register your attendance with reception. For Gaelic Football at Willoughy Hall and the workshops, please report to the session lead who will be wearing either a green Engage Team midlayer or an Empower sweatshirt/t-shirt.

If you need any additional support accessing the sessions, please contact the Empower Team and we will support in anyway that we can.

Empower Champions

Whilst we already have a strong team of champions, we are always looking to grow the team and spread the word about Empower across all areas of the campus.

If you get involved with Empower, the benefits include:

  • Training
  • Kit
  • Socials
  • Skill development

Please contact the Empower Team if you would like to get involved in supporting this initiative.
