Answer:

Yes. For a small number of postgraduate taught students requiring access to labs to work on and complete their projects/dissertations, Schools will be able to offer an opportunity for students to extend their submission deadline for the dissertation into the next academic year and there will be no additional tuition fee charge for this.

Alternatively, students may choose to request a voluntary interruption of studies until they are able to resume the module (as a first sit) at the relevant time in the next academic year again with no additional tuition fee charge
Answer:

For a small number of postgraduate research students requiring access to labs for their research who cannot make progress without this, it is possible to request a short voluntary interruption of studies for up to 60 days to preserve study time and prevent tuition fees accruing during this period.  Where students interrupt their studies the tuition fee is recalculated and the amount due will be adjusted.  International students can interrupt for up to 60 days without this impacting on their Tier 4 student visa.

Students in receipt of a scholarship (tuition fee and/or stipend) during their studies should liaise with their sponsor in advance of requesting an interruption to understand any implications for their funding.

More information for students funded by the UKRI and UoN is available on our website
