University Card

University cards for students who started in the autumn are kept at our Student Service Centres ready for you to collect, this includes cards for distance learners.

If you've lost your card and ordered a replacement then you will be emailed by the University Card team when your card is ready to collect. The email will tell you where to collect it from, but it will most likely be the Security Office at Hallward Library. 

If you are unsure about which Student Service Centre to visit for your card, please look for your School on the list below.

What you need to know

Uploading a photo

If you have not applied for a card ahead of arriving at the University of Nottingham then you will need to do this before we can produce your card. You can apply via the email you would have been sent 3 weeks prior to your start date. If you are unable to find this, you can follow the instructions below:

To apply for your first card, you will need...

  1.  A digital passport style photograph of yourself (in .jpg format). Examples of approved/rejected photos are available here.

  2. Your username (student ID) and password (date of birth DDMMYYYY)

  3. To visit this site: University card self service 

  4. Once logged in, please choose your photo, then press upload and then press confirm. You will now know your upload has been successful as you will be logged out of the portal automatically once the process has completed.

Please note however, this will result in a delay in the receipt of your card as it takes approximately 7 working days for your card to arrive.

If you are unable to upload a photo please email universitycard@nottingham.ac.uk with a jpeg photo that meets the above requirements and we will be able to do this for you.

Unauthorised photos

If you have uploaded an inappropriate photo with filters, sunglasses, hats, or group photographs, your card will be rejected.

If we reject your card, you will be liable to pay the £15 replacement card fee before a new card is issued.
