Finding standards

Finding British standards online

The University of Nottingham subscribes to the full text of the British Standards.

  • Use the quick search box to search for a keyword or the standard number.
  • Use the advanced search to filter by year of publication/update etc.

There is a link to help available on the left hand panel of the screen, or view the demonstrations below

Both demonstrations include sound. Subtitles are provided at the bottom of the screen.

Finding print versions of standards

In some cases, the library may have some standards available in print.

  • Search Library Collections on NUsearch [UK; China; Malaysia] for the name of the publishing body using the Author field e.g. British Standards Institution or American Society for Testing and Materials
  • Use the modify option to narrow the search by adding subject keywords to find a specific publication

More Standards websites are available via NUsearch [UK, China, Malaysia].

  • Go to Databases from the home page
  • Select General from the Category drop-down
  • Select Standards from the Sub-category drop-down
