Studying Effectively

Logging into eResources

Information on how to access electronic resources such as eBooks, eJournals, or bibliographic databases is available. These resources can be accessed both on-campus and off-campus in most cases.

Logging on to electronic resources on-campus

Accessing electronic resources from the University network will usually not require you to login.

Logging on to electronic resources off-campus

Accessing resources from off campus will require you to identify yourself as a member of the University.

In most cases, simply enter your university username and password when requested.

Occasionally, you may be asked to login with a different password, but this will be detailed within NUsearch [UKChinaMalaysia]

Is access free?

The library pays money each year to subscribe to electronic resources.  This allows you to access the resources free of charge. If you are being asked to pay, this may be due to:

Access:

Make sure you access eBooks, eJournals and bibliographic databases via NUsearch [UK, China, Malaysia]. These services have been set up to pick up relevant authentication for students at the university.

Non-subscriptions:

It is not possible for the library to subscribe to every electronic resource that is published.

Check NUsearch [UKChinaMalaysia] for details of subscriptions, both in print and online.
